SERVICE THROUGH CREATIVITY AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Livingstone Delali Agbo

Every movement begins with a moment. For me, it was volunteering during the Amuzudeve Easter Outreach Project in Ghana’s Volta Region. That experience helped shape my mindset, clarified my purpose, and ultimately inspired what is now known as “The Volunteering Experience (TVE),”  a DCA initiative focused on community impact through creative service. Livingstone showed some materials needed for tie-dye making during a training session for the community. I believe there’s a unique spirit that comes with volunteering, one that shifts your focus away from yourself and toward the needs of others. It humbles you, empowers you, and compels you to take action that improves lives, communities, and the world around you. Once you experience that shift, it’s hard to turn back. It changes your mindset, fuels your passion, and transforms your attitude toward life and leadership. When I returned from my ICS placement in Adaklu Waya, I knew my volunteer journey wasn’t over. The Action at Home project gave me a chance to extend the spirit of service beyond the boundaries of my host community and to bring it back home. So, I partnered with Reachout World Missions to support one of the most joyful, impactful charity events I’ve ever witnessed: The Love Fair . Livingstone raised funds in public transport and at church to support the Love Fair event. As part of my Action at Home commitment, I chose to raise funds and volunteer with Reachout World Missions , a charity dedicated to social interventions that bring hope and empowerment to disadvantaged communities in Ghana. Their flagship event, The Love Fair 2015 , took place on December 12, 2015, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra.
